Not bad for a student, : Furinno Simple Design Coffee Table, Espresso, 11179(10025)
but if you're looking for high quality or you're a perfectionist then this product is not for you. Let's start with the bad:
I have Prime, so it shipped FAST, but what came out of the box was a disappointment. Why? 1. When I opened the box to remove the product the hardware pieces were loose in the box; 2. The loose hardware seems to have scratched the finished surface of the top panel as well as of three of the leg panels (not horribly, but noticeably); and 3. The top panel laminate trim is separating slightly from the panel and has a noticeable seam where it overlaps.
Now for the good:
1. I am a student furnishing my home on a tight budget. My taste would have had me spend >$300 on a coffee table, but that's just not possible right now, which is why this product is great for a student who does not plan to have the product for a long time. I believe this makes a great temporary furnishing that will later become part of a great celebratory bonfire. The financial bottom line is that the price point here ($30) is decent for what it is, but I wouldn't suggest paying more than that. The $60 list price is absurd;
2. It's actually pretty cute, just not when analysing it up close. The Espresso finish blends perfectly with the style of my living room (dark and cosy) and, from a distance, complements everything quite nicely;
3. Assembly is brilliantly simple. I don't want to perpetuate the stereotype that women can't build things, but strictly in my own experience I've never been adept at assembling things like this. The directions were easy to understand and all I needed was a Phillips screwdriver--NO ALLEN WRENCH!!! I was very pleased that an Allen wrench was not required because I have a very intense hatred of the tool and the manufacturers of products requiring Allen-wrench assembly; and
4. The table is surprisingly sturdy considering the particleboard material. I wouldn't advise sitting on it, but I sometimes babysit and the kids are all <100 pounds, so I wouldn't be worried about the table breaking if one of them climbed on it.
Conclusion: It's worth purchasing at the $30 price if you're on a tight budget and realise the product is only a temporary addition to your life.
**At the time of this review I've had the table assembled for <1 hour. I'll update my review later if necessary.**
